Best Claude plugins for teams: what to standardize on (2026)

Last updated: November 2, 2026

TL;DR

The best Claude plugins for a team are mostly Anthropic's own: the knowledge-work set in Cowork for everyone, the official Claude Code set for developers, and the finance and legal marketplaces for specialist teams. Add one partner plugin for each tool you already pay for, and treat community plugins as optional until someone has read their code.

  • ๐Ÿ—‚๏ธ Knowledge work. Productivity and Enterprise Search for everyone, then one role plugin per job: Sales, Marketing, Customer Support, Product Management or Data.
  • ๐Ÿค Sales and CRM. Anthropic's Sales plugin, plus the single partner plugin for the CRM or data provider your sales team already has a seat in.
  • ๐Ÿ’ป Engineering. Code Review, Security Guidance, Commit Commands, CLAUDE.md Management and your language server, then Context7, GitHub and Playwright.
  • ๐Ÿ“‘ Finance and legal. Generalists get Finance and Legal from the knowledge-work set. Banking, fund and in-house legal teams add Anthropic's financial services and Claude for Legal marketplaces.
  • ๐Ÿšฆ Rollout. Required only for plugins whose hooks you've read, Installed by default for the daily set, Available for the rest, and a source check on anything Anthropic didn't publish.

Every plugin below is listed in Anthropic's directory at claude.com/plugins, which counted 342 plugins on October 21, 2026. Install counts are the figures shown on each plugin's page that day. If you're still deciding on seats, start with our guide to the Claude Team plan.

Best Claude plugins for knowledge work

For anyone who isn't a developer, the best Claude plugins are Anthropic's knowledge-work set. They run in Cowork, they're open source under Apache 2.0 in anthropics/knowledge-work-plugins, and the Knowledge Work marketplace is added to every account by default. Give everyone Productivity and Enterprise Search, then one role plugin per job.

Anthropic's plugins guide says plugins work on every paid plan, and that their skills and commands work in chat, Cowork and Claude Code. Hooks and sub-agents only run in Cowork and Claude Code.

PluginWhat it doesTools it expectsWho gets it
ProductivityTasks, calendars, daily workflows and persistent context about your workSlack, Notion, Asana, Linear, Jira, Monday, ClickUp, Microsoft 365Everyone
Enterprise SearchOne query across email, chat, docs and wikisSlack, Notion, Guru, Jira, Asana, Microsoft 365Everyone
MarketingContent drafts, campaign plans, brand voice checks, competitor briefs, channel reportsSlack, Canva, Figma, HubSpot, Amplitude, Notion, Ahrefs, SimilarWeb, KlaviyoMarketing
Customer SupportTicket triage, reply drafts, escalation packages, knowledge base articles from resolved issuesSlack, Intercom, HubSpot, Guru, Jira, Notion, Microsoft 365Support
Product ManagementSpecs, roadmaps, user research synthesis, stakeholder updatesSlack, Linear, Asana, Jira, Notion, Figma, Amplitude, Pendo, IntercomProduct
DataSQL, statistical analysis, dashboards, and checking the work before you share itSnowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, Hex, AmplitudeAnalysts

The tool lists come from the repo's README. A plugin reaches them through MCP connectors, which an Owner still has to enable on Team. The directory also lists Anthropic Cowork plugins for Human Resources, Operations, Design and Engineering.

Don't pick Cowork plugins by install count. Most of Anthropic's show 0 or no figure on their directory pages, Data (7,655) aside, so the number only means something for Claude Code plugins.

Two partner plugins are worth a look. Slack, by Slack by Salesforce, works in Cowork and Claude Code and shows 92,287 installs. Brand Voice, by Tribe AI, reads Notion, Google Drive, Confluence, Gong, Slack and meeting transcripts to build one set of brand guidelines for everyone's drafts. If you run a small business, Anthropic's Small Business plugin is covered in our breakdown of Claude for Small Business.

Best Claude plugins for sales and CRM

For a sales team, start with Anthropic's Sales plugin and add one partner plugin for the CRM or prospecting database you already pay for. A partner plugin is a front end to that vendor's data, so it only helps people who have an account there.

The Sales plugin covers prospect research, call prep, outreach drafts and pipeline reviews. It ships commands such as /call-summary, /forecast and /pipeline-review, and it can use Slack, HubSpot, Close, Clay, ZoomInfo, Notion, Jira, Fireflies and Microsoft 365 through connectors.

All five are on claude.com/plugins. The directory lists HubSpot Sales and monday CRM for Claude Code only, so a sales team working in Cowork reaches HubSpot through the Sales plugin and the HubSpot connector instead.

The directory marks some plugins "Anthropic verified" and doesn't say what that check covers, so don't treat the badge as a security review of the vendor's code.

Best Claude Code plugins for engineering

For developers, the best Claude Code plugins are the small set Anthropic maintains in its official marketplace, plus two or three partner plugins for services your stack already runs. Claude Code adds that marketplace, claude-plugins-official, the first time you start an interactive session, per Anthropic's marketplace docs. Keep the default set short, because each plugin adds tokens to every message.

These are the most-installed plugins in the directory that a team would standardize on, with a suggested setting for each:

Anthropic publishes language servers for C#, Go, Java, Kotlin, Rust, Swift, C and C++, Lua and Ruby too. Pick the ones that match your repos.

Superpowers is the outlier: the second most-installed plugin in the directory, built by an independent developer, and not marked Anthropic verified. Its source is at github.com/obra/superpowers. Read it before you put it in front of the whole team.

Three details matter when a team installs these:

  1. Install from the official marketplace, by name. Run /plugin install code-review@claude-plugins-official. Anthropic's demo marketplace in anthropics/claude-code carries many of the same plugins under the same names, and the docs say to install from claude-plugins-official "so you don't have two copies installed."
  2. Check the context cost before you install. For official-marketplace plugins, the /plugin details pane shows two token estimates: Every turn and When invoked, per the install docs. A plugin that adds a lot to every turn should be Available, not Installed by default.
  3. Prune what nobody uses. The Installed tab in /plugin groups plugins you haven't used recently under a Not used recently header.

Vendor plugins such as Vercel (227,688 installs), Figma (167,556), Supabase (118,617) and Sentry (38,810) belong only where the team runs that service. If you want a full workflow rather than single plugins, our compound engineering setup for Claude Code shows how we combine shared conventions with plugins.

Finance and legal teams choose between two depths. Generalists get Anthropic's Finance and Legal plugins from the knowledge-work set. Banking, private equity, fund admin and in-house legal teams should add Anthropic's dedicated marketplaces, which go much further and assume you already pay for the data sources behind them.

Anthropic's plugins guide names Financial Services, Legal and Life Sciences as marketplaces you can add alongside Knowledge Work.

PluginWhere it comes fromBest forWhat it covers

commercial-legal, privacy-legal, corporate-legal, employment-legal and moreClaude for LegalIn-house legalPlaybook-based vendor contract review, DPIAs and DSARs, M&A diligence, hiring and termination review

The financial services repo also has named agent plugins, such as GL Reconciler and Month-End Closer. Its data connectors include Daloopa, Morningstar, FactSet, Moody's, PitchBook and LSEG, and the README warns that access "may require a subscription or API key from the provider." Check which feeds you already license before you install.

The legal marketplace has 12 plugins, from commercial and privacy work to litigation, plus a Thomson Reuters CoCounsel plugin that needs a CoCounsel subscription. After installing one, you run its setup, for example /commercial-legal:cold-start-interview, before the first review. The README says every output is a draft for attorney review, not legal advice.

How a Team owner rolls out plugins and vets community ones

Roll plugins out in tiers from the admin console: Required for the one or two everyone must run, Installed by default for the daily set, and Available for the rest. Anything Anthropic didn't publish gets a source review first, because Anthropic's docs say a Claude Code plugin "can execute arbitrary code on your machine with your user privileges."

These are the four settings on the Inventory tab, from Anthropic's organization plugins article:

SettingWhat it doesUse it for
RequiredPre-installs the plugin for every member, with no option to remove itSecurity Guidance, or a private plugin with your house rules
Installed by defaultPre-installs it for every member; they can turn it offProductivity, Enterprise Search, Code Review
Available to installLists it on the Discover tab for members to add themselvesRole plugins and vendor plugins
Not availableHides it entirelyAnything you haven't reviewed, or are retiring

The rollout takes seven steps:

  1. Enable Cowork and Skills. Anthropic's article says "Cowork and Skills must both be enabled for your organization before you can use plugin marketplaces."
  2. Check what's already open. On our own Team account, the Anthropic Directory plugins on the Inventory tab, including Greenhouse, UKG Bryte, Upstash Redis, Setup Audit and Shepherd, were all set to "Everyone ยท can install." On the Policy tab, User-created skills was on and Publishing was set to Open.
  3. Hide first, then open up. Set everything you haven't chosen to Not available, then move your chosen set to Available or Installed by default.
  4. Read the hooks before anything goes Required. The article says to "Review a plugin's hooks before you set it to Required," because hooks, sub-agents and MCP servers run on the member's computer and a Required plugin can't be turned off there.
  5. Put your own plugins in a private marketplace. Upload ZIP files under 200 MB, or sync a private GitHub or GitLab repository.
  6. Restrict outside marketplaces for Claude Code. Organization settings, then Claude Code, has allow and block lists for the marketplaces members can add. Plugins your org turns on sync into Claude Code as <name>@synced from version 2.1.273, and members can't turn off the ones you require.
  7. Review usage monthly. The Inventory tab's Users (30d) column shows what people actually use. Hide what nobody touches.

Group targeting is Enterprise-only. On Team, a setting applies to the whole organization.

Vetting starts with the source. Anthropic's plugin security page sorts every marketplace into three tiers:

TierWhich marketplacesWhat Anthropic does
Officialclaude-plugins-official, knowledge-work-plugins, claude-for-financial-services, claude-for-legal, life-sciences and othersClaude Code only accepts these names from github.com/anthropics/ repositories
Communityclaude-communityAuthor-submitted plugins, nearly all pinned to a specific commit
Third-partyEverything else, including a coworker'sNot reviewed by Anthropic

Claude Code shows the same warning for every plugin, official or not: Anthropic "cannot verify that they will work as intended or that they won't change." For anything outside the official tier, read three files in the plugin's folder before you approve it: hooks/hooks.json for the commands each hook runs, .mcp.json for each server's command or URL, and everything in bin/. Then run claude plugin details <name> for the full component list.

Two more risks are easy to miss. Auto-update is on by default for most official marketplaces, so files you reviewed can change on disk later. And skills alone can carry code: Anthropic's skills article says they "may include, or instruct Claude to install, third-party packages and software." The organization plugins article adds that "Uploaded plugins aren't checked." If you want approved skills only, turn off User-created skills on the Policy tab.

Frequently asked questions

What are the most useful Claude plugins?

For most teams: Productivity and Enterprise Search in Cowork, one role plugin per job such as Sales or Marketing, and for developers Code Review, Security Guidance, Commit Commands and CLAUDE.md Management in Claude Code. Add a partner plugin only for a tool your team already pays for.

What are the top 5 Claude Code plugins?

By installs on claude.com/plugins on October 21, 2026: Frontend Design (1,134,112), Superpowers (1,009,371), Code Review (438,525), Context7 (417,801) and Code Simplifier (346,763). Popularity isn't the same as fit, so a team should pick by job, not by rank.

Are Claude Code plugins worth it?

Yes, for the few you use every day. A plugin packages skills, commands, agents, hooks and MCP servers so the whole team gets the same setup in one install. Each one also adds tokens to every message, so install a short set by default and make the rest optional.

What plugins exist for Claude?

Anthropic's directory at claude.com/plugins listed 342 on October 21, 2026. They come from Anthropic's own marketplaces (knowledge work, Claude Code, financial services, legal, life sciences), from partners such as Slack, GitHub, Apollo and HubSpot, and from independent developers.

Can I add plugins to Claude?

Yes, on every paid plan. In Cowork, open Customize and browse or upload a plugin. In Claude Code, run /plugin install <name>@<marketplace>. On Team and Enterprise, Owners can also run a private marketplace and push plugins to every member.

What are the best Claude integrations?

Integrations are connectors: links to tools such as Google Drive, Gmail, Slack, GitHub or HubSpot. Plugins bundle connectors with skills and commands for a job. Turn on the connectors for tools you already use, then pick plugins that use them.

Are Claude plugins safe?

They're as safe as their source. A Claude Code plugin can run code on your machine with your permissions, and Anthropic doesn't review third-party marketplaces. Prefer Anthropic's marketplaces, and read a plugin's hooks, MCP config and bin/ folder before approving it.

Can a Claude Team owner force a plugin on everyone?

Yes. Set the plugin to Required on the Inventory tab and it's pre-installed for every member with no way to remove it. Anthropic advises reviewing its hooks first. Targeting a plugin at one group of people is Enterprise-only.
